Here we are...

Just off the Port Bow—a place of uncertainty, adventure, and insight. Thank you for your ears, eyes and hearts. I hope to bring compassion, grace and beauty to your day.

In and Around - North Bennington

In and Around - North Bennington

A short drive from any one of the covered bridges of Bennington and you are in North Bennington. This village is halfway between Bennington College (next week's In and Around blog) and Bennington Battlefield (last week's). Go there for fine dining at Pangea, casual great food at Powers Market or history at the Park-McCullough House.

This morning, in the Book Review section of the WSJ is a story about Shirley Jackson (1916 - 1965), the author, most notably, of The Lottery. She and her husband lived in North Bennington. The world in the pictures below is largely, I imagine, unchanged from the world in which she wrote and raised her family.
